About
Anne Siefert

Anne
paints in oils or pastels about people places and things that are integral to her life. She works directly from her subjects, whether that be the barns and landscapes of Columbia County, NY, or the cows and farms of Central Connecticut, or the found objects and flowers seen in her still-life works. She enjoys the experience of working en plein-air during all 4 seasons, often painting outdoors under the meager shelter of her Jeep hatch back. Her environments are intimate, although they may be vast, evoking the stillness and privacy of her personal encounter with the space.
She received her formal painting instruction at Moore College of Art in Philadelphia and earned her graduate degree at New York University.
Additional Study includes workshops and classes with Gregory Gillespie, Jon Peters, Richard Baker, Joel Janowitz, Wolf Kahn, Frederick Brosen, Martha Erlbacher, Daniel Greene and her mentor, the late Roger van Damme.
In addition to her pursuits as a Painter, Anne has worked as an Art Consultant with Japanese museums, corporations and private investors and as an instructor of Painting and Art History. She now works full-time as a painter and mother (of 2 young girls), maintaining studios in central Connecticut and upstate New York.
She has been painting and selling her artwork since 1990.
